Eric Cantor has introduced a new bill that could help revolutionize American
education by empowering parents in the education of their children.
The "Education Empowerment Tax Credit Act" (HR 257) would give parents
a $1,000 education tax credit per child for education expenses.
HR 257 applies to children in public, private or home school and
provides a $1,000 TAX CREDIT (that’s CASH BACK on your tax return) PER CHILD
for education expenses. You can get a credit for tuition. For books. For
supplies. For tutoring. For computer equipment. The key is this: PARENTS CHOOSE WHAT IS BEST FOR THEIR CHILDREN! AND THIS IS THE KEY TO OUR
NATION’S EDUCATION CRISIS!
Already,
several leading pro-family groups are supporting this bill, including:
American Family Association, Family Research Council, American Renewal,
Concerned Women for America, Christian Coalition of America, and Home School
Legal Defense Association.

As a taxpaying citizen, I am calling on you to support HR257, the "Education Empowerment Tax Credit Act," as part of the 107th Congress’ tax relief plan for 2001.
In order to solve our nation’s education crisis, we must empower parents to make the best choices for the education of their children. HR 257 will accomplish this by giving parents choice and flexibility in their education decisions. And since this bill applies to parents of children in public, private and home education settings, HR 257 will help all American families with school-aged children.
